On March 19, 2025, as part of the 44th Conference on Organizational Sciences in Portorož, a successful workshop for companies on the topic of open data was held.
The event was opened by Boštjan Zrimšek from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which co-finances the project together with the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS). The workshop brought together company representatives interested in exploring how open data can drive innovation and enhance business processes.
The participants were introduced to key opportunities for leveraging open data, practical examples of its integration into business operations, and a self-assessment tool for measuring organizational maturity in this area. The content of the tool, which is based on the AAT technology by Arctur, was developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Organizational Sciences at the University of Maribor, is available at https://supop.aat4.eu.
In the practical part of the workshop, companies had the opportunity to test the tool and receive individual reports with tailored recommendations. These reports provided guidance on how to improve both technological and organizational capacities to better harness the potential of the data economy.
The workshop demonstrated that open data, when strategically applied, can be a powerful asset for companies aiming to strengthen their competitiveness. Active participation and knowledge sharing among attendees highlighted the growing importance of data literacy in building a resilient and forward-looking business environment.
