SMARTOURISM.BG is a research project launched in 2015 with the aim to explore the practices and challenges of knowledge management in tourism in Bulgaria. Within the framework of the project an annual SMARTOURISM.BG conference is organised to present research results, challenges and best practices. On November 20th and 21st, the 6th International Conference was held in Sofia, Bulgaria, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism of Republic of Bulgaria. The theme of the conference this year was "Challenges for Sustainability and Digitalisation in Tourism". The event brought together experts from around the world to discuss the latest trends in smart tourism, including digital marketing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
The conference also featured a number of workshops and training sessions on topics such as how to use technology to improve the customer experience, how to create a sustainable tourism destination, and how to measure the impact of smart tourism initiatives. Tourism 4.0 expert, Katarina Ceglar, presented how digital solutions empower data driven tourism destinations and how tourism 4.0 tools and technologies can enhance the tourist experience. The event provided valuable insights for tourism professionals from around the world.
