The THRIVE Project has officially launched under the Creative Europe Programme, setting out on a mission to breathe new life into rural areas across the European Union. By preserving intangible cultural heritage, promoting local crafts and gastronomy, and fostering creative industries through digitization, THRIVE aims to create sustainable growth while celebrating the richness of Europe’s diverse traditions.
The project’s journey began in Fundão, Portugal, where partners from Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spaingathered for an inspiring exchange of knowledge and ideas. This initial meeting focused on developing innovative strategies to attract talent to rural areas, ensuring that these regions remain vibrant and economically viable.
THRIVE is built on the belief that cultural heritage and creativity can be powerful drivers of rural revitalization. By integrating digital innovation with traditional crafts, gastronomy, and artistic expressions, the project seeks to empower local communities, encourage entrepreneurship, and strengthen cultural identity.
As the project unfolds, THRIVE will introduce concrete initiatives, collaborations, and opportunities aimed at boosting rural economies, enhancing cultural experiences, and fostering cross-border cooperation. Through a combination of heritage preservation and forward-thinking innovation, THRIVE envisions a future where rural areas are not just preserved but actively thriving.
