Arctur, in collaboration with Primorski Tehnološki Park, hosted an engaging workshop as part of the DigiSi project, focused on exploring how cutting-edge digital technologies can elevate tourism offerings and create more immersive visitor experiences.
The event brought together tourism professionals, tech experts, and cultural heritage stakeholders for a hands-on look at emerging tools and methods shaping the future of the sector. Experts in virtual reality and 3D technologies, Matevž Straus and Luka Vodopivec, led the session with a showcase of immersive VR experiences, 3D reconstructions, and 360-degree recordings. One of the highlights of the day was a virtual reality dive beneath Velenje Lake, where participants were able to explore the digitally reconstructed remains of the submerged village of Škale—an experience that blended storytelling, history, and high-tech immersion.
The workshop also featured demonstrations of interactive digital museum displays, projection mapping, and touch-based interactive tables. These technologies offer new ways for visitors to engage with cultural heritage, adding layers of information and interactivity that transform passive observation into dynamic exploration.
Participants had the opportunity to try the technologies first-hand, discuss practical applications, and receive personalized insights into how such solutions can be integrated into their own tourism or cultural initiatives. The event not only showcased the power of innovation in enriching tourism but also reinforced the role of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in driving digital transformation across the sector.
