Partners in the MEDS project developed a methodology for delivering the training course in the MEDS Academy. The teaching methodology will be a participatory learning approach that combines digital microlearning with physical co-creation labs (online trainings – combination of webinars and materials for self-study with the help of a facilitator). This blended learning approach will be a combination of the traditional face-to-face instruction with online learning. The partners consider that this methodology is beneficial due to its flexibility of learning, convenience regarding the pace and time of learning and will enhance the engagement of learners due to a variety of learning activities and experiences.
While preparing the methodology the partners also developed a professional profile of the future MEDS professional. Through the training the partners will enhance the following competences (building on existing traditional knowledge of tourism) of the participants: digital competences, sustainability competences and entrepreneurship competences.
Key features of MEDS professional after the training will be:
- Upskilled professional capable of managing the skills, practices and knowledge that inspire smart tourism.
- Proficient in digital, sustainability, and entrepreneurship competences.
- Informed about key trends and up-to-date developments in the tourism industry.
- Understands the wants and needs of the modern tourist, and is able to anticipate these needs and develop innovative solutions.
The partners are currently developing the training programme for the MEDS Academy and will soon invite you to join the training.
