The Valkiria Hub Space in Barcelona set the stage for the grand finale of the Tourbit project. On March 1st, partners, and beneficiaries of the Tourbit initiative gathered for this event. Co-founded by the European Union, Tourbit has played a pivotal role in fostering innovation and collaboration within the tourism sector. The conference served as a culmination of Tourbit's endeavors, offering a platform to spotlight the project's accomplishments and discuss its enduring impact.
The conference also presented the statistics of the use of digital readiness tool (DRI). Tourism 4.0 was pivotal in making the DRI. It is a tool provided for the SMEs that checks their digital readiness and receive a personalized report on their current state for free. The tool also gives them recommendations for improvement based on their answers.
Distinguished speakers attended the occasion, including representatives from the Catalan Tourist Board, the European Innovation Council, SMEs Executive Agency EISMEA, and the Tourbit project Coordinator. A roundtable discussion centered on the theme "Tourism SMEs Investing in Digitalization," featuring insights from 10 Tourbit SMEs spanning seven countries. Notably, Urša Furst, representing Kamp Menina from Slovenia, shared her experiences, shedding light on the challenges faced by their SME, particularly in managing group interactions. She emphasized how Tourbit's support has facilitated the optimization of their work processes, enhanced staff efficiency and ultimately elevating their product and customer experience.
Among the attendees was Katarina Ceglar from Tourism 4.0, who joined other representatives in delivering brief, impactful speeches highlighting the project's benefits for the SMEs it nurtured. The conference underscored the transformative power of collaborative efforts in advancing the tourism industry and fostering sustainable growth for businesses across Europe.
