Tourism 4.0 experts attended Days of Slovenian Tourism, organised by the Slovenian Tourist Board in cooperation with the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism, and Sport, along with industry partners, held in Nova Gorica from November 13thto 15th.
This year, the spotlight of the event was on the vital theme of artificial intelligence integration in the tourism sector. Esteemed experts delivered enlightening lectures, providing valuable insights into the current state of this innovative tool and its transformative effects on business models within the tourism industry.
Two inspiring lectures were given by Tourism 4.0 experts. Matevž Straus presented an innovative approach to creating new enriched tourist experiences based on cultural heritage. He gave examples of the use of advanced technologies (3D scanning, modeling, animations, AR, VR, MR...) and hybrid knowledge of digital business model development and strategic planning of digital transformation. In his lecture participants learned about the role of digitization and new media in their organizations and received an outline of the key steps for the efficient introduction of technological solutions into the interpretation of cultural heritage.
Andraž Orehar presented how digital technologies and real data can be used as a basis for analytical thinking, which improves the resilience of tourism providers and enables effective sustainable development. Analytical thinking is a very important approach in sustainable management, in which digitization also plays a key role. As part of the lecture, effective assistance and monitoring of tourism providers in their digitization process was also presented as one of the main steps.
