After the presentation of Tourism 4.0 at Atlantour in Gran Canaria in April, the official delegation of Canarian atthorities and business representatives visited Slovenia recognizing the effort of the Tourism 4.0 Partnership and the progress that the initiative has achieved. A concrete step forward toward common plans and actions was officialy formalized with a signed Memorandum of Understanding.
The signment of the agreement at Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry from the left: Tomi Ilijaš, the CEO and Dr. Urška Starc Peceny, Chief Innovation Officer and Lead of Tourism 4.0 Department, both Arctur, Ines Čigoja, Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anabel Rivero, Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria (CCGC), Aleš Cantarutti, state secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Blas Acosta, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Government of the Canary Islands, Santiago de Armas Fariñas, President of the Tourism Commission of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria and José Sánchez Tinoco, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria.
During the visit, on the 16th of June Slovenia&Gran Canaria round table was organized. The CEO of company Arctur presented the Slovenian experience of Tourism 4.0. The last part of the meeting was dedicated to the Memorandum Of Understanding between the Tourism 4.0 Partnership and AEI Turismo Innova Gran Canaria, signed by the CEO of Arctur, Tomi Ilijaš and Santiago de Armas of the AEI Turismo Innova, Gran Canaria.
The Memorandum is the first formal step into the long-lasting cooperation between Tourism 4.0, Slovenia and AEI Turismo Innova Gran Canaria. The partnership will prosper in many bilateral and EU projects, common activities, study visits, transwer of knowledge and best practices. Our common value and overall vision is to support data-driven strategic planning in sustainable development in both countries.
