On 13th April the Tourism 4.0 team proudly hosted a visit from the ESA – European Space Agency. Dr Gordon Campbell, Head of the Future Earth Observation programme at ESA and Mr Anton Horžen from the Slovenian ESA delegation visited Arctur in Nova Gorica to discuss:
- the benefits of space technologies for local communities, delved into plans for Tourism 4.0 and heritage use cases,
- how ESA can benefit the high-performance computing system.
The plans for the future were also presented – especially Arctur’s SD4TIM project which resulted in integration of the satellite data into the award-winning tool Tourism Impact model. A fruitful discussion was held on how Tourism 4.0 and Heritage can contribute to the higher quality of life on Earth with the support of the space satellite data.
We are thrilled to see ESA's interest in fostering collaboration and innovation in this field!
