Urška Starc Peceny and Tomi Ilijaš were invited to presented the vision of Tourism 4.0 at THE Slovenia webinar. The discussion revolved around how to take advantage of the Industry 4.0 in co-creating tourism for the future. The paradigm shift in focusing the tourism ecosystem around the local community has been introduced and ways of data driven tourism to boost positive tourism impact explained. In addition, Tourism 4.0 tools such as Tourism Impact Model, Collaboration Impact Token and Tourism 4.0 Flows were presented and their contribution to prediction, monitoring and management of tourism activities and thus its impact.
Furthermore, digitisation of cultural heritage and possibilities of innovation of the latter has been described with the focus on how to expand tourism experiences in the digital world i.e. how to create new enriched tourism experiences. Last but not least, they have also presented the #TourismFromZero initiative and the unique opportunity we have to build tourism from point zero after the COVID-19 outbreak.
